FSTech develops the RFI-Integration Layer and contributes to the E-BRIDGE project

4th August 2020

The RFI-Integration Layer is a centralized IT platform used for the exchange of circulation data between the Infrastructure Manager and the external operators. This project was carried out by FSTechnology in collaboration with Almaviva for RFI.

Within the RFI-Integration Layer project, it has been developed an integration between the PCS system of the Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea and the Integrated Circulation Platform (PIC) system of RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana). This technical development will allow an important fine-tuning of the port activities in the ports of Genoa, Savona, and Vado Ligure.

This integration is part of a path that involves an increasing number of operators (railway companies, institutional bodies, logistics operators) and is an enabling factor in the “E-BRIDGE. Emergency and BRoad Information Development for the ports of Genoa”, a last-mile railway dashboard that makes information available to both public and private operators in real-time to improve the management of railway trains to and from the calls of the harbor system. The project was funded by the EU Commission after the collapse of the Morandi bridge.
